Energy Policy in the Water Sector (2020 To 2030)

The aim was to develop an energy efficiency and renewable energy policy report in the water sector and design of a detailed action plan to be implemented by all the relevant water companies (Miyahuna, YWC, AWC) and governmental entities responsible for water sector in Jordan (WAJ, MWI, JVA)

The new policy shall cover a 10-year period up to 2030 and shall include goals, targets and indicators that are suitably selected to  develop the water sector in Jordan while controlling its energy needs. The future of the water sector in Jordan seems to be energy demanding much more than currently such as desalination from seawater and conveyance for long distances. The policy also covered initiatives to improve the energy efficiency in WWTP sludge management.
