National Training for Waste Management in GAM and 3 Municipalities

This project included several studies and reports performed in support of improving the waste management schemes in Jordanian municipalities including the following:

  • Jizah municipality recycling scheme. This study included a feasibility study of proposed recycling options in Jizah municipality, a summary of the analysis and findings related to the current situation of waste recycling in Jordan, and includes an assessment of the best recycling approach that could be utilized by Jizah municipality. The report also includes a proposed future road plan, which could help increase the success of waste recycling in the long run.
  • Waste collection routing, feasibility study and development of a guidance document for all Jordanian municipalities to implement waste collection routing optimization techniques. The report covered the following items:
      1. Evaluate waste collection systems in category B and C municipalities. Specifically, there will be three municipalities chosen to include in this assessment.
      2. Provide route optimization options for the three municipalities.
      3. Assess different solutions and provide a recommendation to JMSP for the best options to implement for all municipalities.
  • Financial management training for Waste issues in Jordanian Municipalities: The main objective of this assignment was to develop and provide training about the financial aspects of waste management. The training included information about the sources of income, expenditures, assets, and depreciation in addition to how to prepare feasibility reports and an introduction to a circular economy in waste management.
