ESIA for Air Cargo Terminal
The expansion project of the cargo terminal at Queen Alia International Airport aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve logistics services in line with the growing economic development in the region. The project includes the creation of expanded waiting areas and new truck parking spaces to improve traffic flow and reduce waiting times. It also involves the installation of advanced systems, such as solar energy to reduce conventional energy consumption and promote sustainability, as well as specialized inspection devices like X-ray machines to speed up inspection processes and enhance security efficiency. Additionally, the project aims to improve the infrastructure for cargo handling, providing better experience for shipping companies and increasing the airport’s competitiveness at both regional and international levels.
To ensure sustainable development, the project is being implemented in accordance with strict environmental standards through an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). This assessment includes a comprehensive analysis of the project’s potential impacts on the environment and surrounding areas, including possible effects on cultural sites such as Qasr al-Mushatta. Strategies will be implemented to protect cultural heritage and ensure the preservation of the surrounding environment.
